The purpose of this annual event is to remember and celebrate the life of Kelly Ricker -a lifelong member of the Albion community-who dedicated her life to serving her community. Kelly was a 1989 Graduate of Albion High School who passed away on October 10, 2021. Our wish is to assure her family that her memory is alive and timeless.
Throughout her lifetime of service, Kelly touched countless lives and made numerous connections for the betterment of our community. Over the past 30 years, she served the ACS as a lifeguard and for the past two years she took on the role of Assistant Swim Coach.
You may recognize her from serving Girl Scouts of America where she was a leader and Division Chairman. She sat on the Board of Sandstone Park for 15 years. For the past 20 years she assisted at Gotta Dance Studio. Kelly was the master of the quick change room and always the calm, organized stage manager. Beyond the stage, Kelly connected with our dance families and students. Many students shared that she was a role model and mentor. Areas you may not have seen her but appreciated her talents were organizing lineups, technology knowledge with all our equipment, and web design.
Kelly was also an active member of the Holy Family Parish with a strong sense of faith which carried her through her journey. She was always first to volunteer and aide in service of others.
Kelly Ricker connected people, took the time to know them, and was always willing to help. She volunteered so much of her life selflessly! Let’s rally around Kelly’s family on June 25th and remember her beautiful life. Proceeds of the Kelly Ricker Memorial event will go to the scholarship created in her name at the Albion High School Alumni Foundation, Inc.
