From the Directors Chair:  I feel blessed in so many ways.  Not only have I been able to work in the community I live in and raise my family, but I also have been able to live my passion every day through teaching and choreographing.  I'm not sure how many people go to work each day looking forward to all of its activities, opportunities and possibilities like I do.  I thank God for all He is leading me to.
Truly, you the parents and children are my greatest gift.  Your support over the past 20 years has taken Gotta Dance from a one room studio to a multi facet school of the arts.  We now have 2 Dance Rooms, a Boutique and Cabaret Theater.  We offer a diverse program of dance as well as Voice Lessons and Piano Lessons.  Our teaching staff is so talented and unique in style and approach.  I am so proud of them.
I would be honored to have you attend our 20th Annual Dance Recital.  Experience the talent, the love and the joy yourself.

JAZZ DESSERT CABARET

The Albion High School Jazz Band with special guest, AMS Jazz Band, take the stage April 11, 2015.  Two performances are planned that evening for your convenience;  6:00 PM and 8:00 PM.  Your $10 ticket includes admission, dessert and beverage.

The Cabaret at Studio B is thrilled to host this event again. Last year was the first time in 36 years, The Albion High School Jazz Band Dinner Dance changed its venue!  Mr. Thaine, the AHS Director of Bands, wants to recreate the intimacy and atmosphere one would experience at a real, Big Apple jazz club.  “Jazz was originally created for an intimate setting where the audience sits very close to the musicians.  Even the most famous NYC jazz clubs like the Cotton Club, Blue Note and the House of Blues are not big venues,” said Thaine.

The High School Jazz Ensemble with special guest, AMS Jazz Band, have prepared arrangements that will move you in spirit to another time and place.  Seating is limited and reservations are required.
Ticket Team is available to assist you.  Call 585-354-2320.

Seamus kenney live!
  December 27th, 7:00

Picture
Picture
Seamus Kenney has been crafting his unique brand of witty but poignant songs for 20 years now. Ever since he was a freshman at the Eastman School Of Music he would take breaks from his rigorous classical music studies to perform at the local open mic nights. Once on stage at the coffee house, Seamus would often add a much-needed jolt of humor in an otherwise heavy night of poetry, riddled with teenage angst. Songs titled "Topless Waitress" and "The Gap Song" would garner much laughter and applause from audience. Eventually, Seamus would form the band SNMNMNM with his brother Matt and two other guys from Eastman. He moved the band to Hollywood, CA and spent almost 7 years recording and touring all over the U.S. Eventually he settled down in Chapel Hill, NC, where he is a Middle School Chorus and Band Director with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. No longer a touring artist, he is still active in the local music scene as the conductor of a The Chorus Project and is busily finishing his first opera, All Hail The Comet. The holiday season brings a unique opportunity to see Seamus get back to his musical, as well as his familial roots. Seamus will be singing a solo set of original songs spanning his 20-year writing career.

A New Show with a special meaning.

As an entertainer who has performed many times in nursing homes where dementia patients are present, I have seen firsthand how music immediately affects the mood and alertness of such patients.  I see their eyes open up, their feet begin to tap, their lips move as they sing along, and a brightness in their faces.  But  I have only recently become aware of Music & Memory, a program I am now in love with.

Music By Gregg Albertson &
Ron Albertson

Born in 1993, Singer/Songwriter Gregg Albertson is a young musician from Western New York with a knack for story telling. Having written poetry from an early age, Albertson’s musicianship flourished in 2010 when he picked up his fathers guitar and began turning his own stories into songs. Studying Music Industry at The College of Saint Rose, Albertson’s songwriting ability continues to grow: as does his passion for music.

Since 2010 Gregg Albertson has recorded 4 self-produced, self-recorded full-length albums. While his earlier endeavors, “Son of August” and “Never Too Far Away,” were solely acoustic guitar and vocals, his most recent projects. “Beneath These Bones” and “Time Well Wasted,” include a variety of tracks from full band rock tunes to gentle acoustic and vocal tunes, to stirring instrumentals. Since his first recordings his albums have come to include harmonies, drums, lead guitar, bass, and keys; and other than the occasional guest vocal backing track, everything recorded is the work of Albertson himself.

“Some people say that time spent wishing is time well wasted” Albertson elaborates in his song “Who Cares”. Well, one thing we know for sure is that Gregg Albertson has no intentions of wasting his time. Using the knowledge he’s gathered during his time at Saint Rose he intends to make his name known, and share his music with the world.

“AHS DESSERT JAZZ CLUB” IS STEPPING OUT TO THE CABARET AT STUDIO B!

For the first time in 36 years, The Albion High School Jazz Band Dinner Dance is changing its venue!

Thaine and the  Jazz Band have prepared arrangements to the theme of, “An Evening at the Club, with the Rat Pack.”  As you would expect, songs of Sinatra, Davis and Martin will be featured.  Students participating in Mr. Gary Simboli’s musical / vocal programs will be assisting patrons’ every need.
